And are ready to finally show up as the parent you want to be!
PEER SUPPORT
Our peer format allows parents to help one another through shared experience and collective wisdom. While you’re welcome to discuss any parenting-related struggles, the focus of our group is on your mental health and well-being—addressing the unique stressors and emotional challenges of parenthood.
We welcome all parenting approaches, styles, and philosophies; however, our discussions center on the psychological and emotional aspects of parenting, rather than child behavior or parenting techniques. YOU decide what you'd like to share in a supportive and compassionate environment.
Parents Are Under More Stress Than Ever
In August 2024, Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy issued an advisory on the mental well-being of parents. His report, Parents Under Pressure, revealed alarming statistics:
48% of parents say that most days their stress is completely overwhelming
41% say that most days they are so stressed they cannot function.
Today’s parenting culture is filled with comparison, pressure, and unrealistic expectations. From social media influencers to rigid milestone checklists, many parents feel like they’re always falling behind.
The result? Exhaustion, guilt, and burnout.
The message is clear: Parents need more support
That’s exactly what the ATFF Parent Club is about—a space for stressed-out parents to feel seen, supported, and empowered.
WHAT WE’RE ALL ABOUT:
The ATFF Parent Club is focused on supporting your mental well-being through:

WHY PEER SUPPORT MATTERS:
Parenting struggles can be hard to talk about, even with close friends or family…
Many parents keep their challenges to themselves because of fear of judgment, shame, or guilt.
Thankfully, there has been a growing movement—across social media and even within mainstream medicine—toward greater honesty and transparency about the realities of parenthood. More people are acknowledging the unique challenges parents face and the importance of addressing parental mental health. However, despite this progress, it can still be difficult to find spaces for meaningful, productive conversations about these struggles in everyday life. That’s what makes peer support so powerful…
Other forms of therapy often focus on advice-giving or problem-solving, but sometimes, what parents need most is:
✔ A community that truly understands
✔ Multiple perspectives – Unlike one-on-one support, you’ll hear from many parents, helping you find what resonates
✔ Validation & emotional relief – Knowing you’re not alone can be transformative
✔ Camaraderie & shared experience – Healing happens when we connect with others who “get it”

No, you don’t need any specific diagnosis to benefit from this group. Our focus is on supporting parents navigating the stress, emotions, and challenges of parenthood—no formal diagnosis required.
-
Unlike group therapy, peer support groups are not clinical treatment. They focus on shared experiences, connection, and practical strategies rather than structured therapeutic interventions. There’s no diagnosis, treatment plan, or therapist-led analysis—just a supportive space to learn, share, and grow.
-
Membership gives you access to three weekly Zoom meetings, short teaching lessons from Dr. Jen, structured sharing time, a monthly recap email with key insights, mindset shifts, emotional regulation strategies, and science-backed stress reduction tips.

The goal of the group is support the mental wellness of parents, addressing the unique mental health stressors that impact parents. That being said, many of the topics we discuss will center around some of the psychological, physical and environmental variables that impact parents in the first several years of parenthood (eg: tantrums, sleep challenges, infant care, etc). All parents are welcome, but parents in the earlier stages of parenthood will likely benefit the most.
-
No, our groups are open to anyone who identifies as a caregiver. Some of Dr. Jen’s teachings and group topics will center around physiologic changes that happen during the transition into parenthood (like hormone shifts and brain changes), but the majority of our discussions will be completely applicable to any and all caregivers.
-
Each 45-minute Zoom session begins with a short (<5 min) teaching from Dr. Jen, followed by 30 minutes of member shares (under 3 minutes per share). The last 10 minutes are reserved for a Q&A session. Members are encouraged to listen without cross-talking, ensuring a respectful and open sharing environment.

Nope! If you’d rather observe, that’s great too! There is tremendous benefit in hearing others share their own stories and being able to relate and apply their situations to your own. So if you never choose to share, that fine. However, it’s also true that when you share your own stories, you often begin to connect the dots in ways you weren’t able to before, so we encourage you to share anytime you feel called - and others will benefit from your story too!
-
Due to the nature of the meeting membership format, refunds are not available. If you have any concerns about whether the group is the right fit for you, please reach out with any questions!
-
Yes! Research shows that peer support can reduce feelings of isolation, increase emotional resilience, and provide meaningful connection. Hearing others' experiences can help normalize your own struggles, offer new perspectives, and provide valuable coping strategies.
